Meet Jill

History
Graphically Put is a one woman design firm located in a small house in the woods just outside of Bayfield, Wisconsin. After three years of design layout and feature writing for a weekly county newspaper in Southeast Minnesota, a move to the south shore of Lake Superior in 2001 prompted me to start my own graphic design business. Six years into it, I take pride in a strong local client base from the Chequamegon Bay communities of Ashland, Washburn and Bayfield.

Philosophy
In a society that is overwhelmed with printed messages, I strive to design pieces that are calm and pleasing to the eye. No glitz. No clutter. Just ideas and information transformed into tasteful, effective offerings.

Attitude
When I get a project from a client, my number one priority is to develop a piece that they are utterly satisfied with. My clients need their print material to get their message across effectively – whether it be a brochure, newsletter, postcard, or advertisement. I take the time to get it right. Period.

Profile
In addition to graphic design training, I also hold a degree in soil science and sustainable agriculture. While I have no formal education in writing, it is a skill I enjoy and one that has, fortunately, always come easily to me. I am a volunteer EMT with the Bayfield Ambulance Service – a gratifying job in my small town of 600 folks. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the Chequamegon Humane Association and gladly donate my professional services to the homeless animals of the Chequamegon Bay.
